this is gonna sound cringe but Anonymous 32047

ive always wanted to get into the kawaii/edge/alt aesthetic , i ve loved alt fashion since i were 12 t b h.But im ugly and poor rn and from my calc my lyfe wont be steady enough until my late twenties ,to be able to afford such shit.

My issue is that its considered cringe/ridicules/ugly/ for women in their 30+ to wear such stuff ,just look at how that kelly person was dragged.

i know i shouldnt let stuff like that affect me but honsetly it does ,being ugly/old in alt fashion feels ita

>inb4 jus dont wear too cutsy shit

i have a feeling that that would be a insincere compromise and jus grim

Sounds like me.
Almost 30, but the clothes I've always wanted from Ali express. (Because grew up poor, and majority of my clothing wasn't my choice) I no longer have the body to wear it. Not wear in public. Dress up at home. Expire quietly each day.

It will always considered to be cringe and ugly to wear that kind of stuff no matter what age you are to the majority of people. Alt fashion isn't a good hobby for people concerned about what others think of them.
Personally I am like that so I have a few nice dolls I dress up in however I like instead.

Thrift, make your own shit. I'm poor too too, I plan on redoing my entire wardrobe soon.

Are you just talkig about kawaii fashion or other fashion?

You can be old and wear cute things, lots of cute dressig styles are suitable for old people, like victorian clothing or folk clothing.

I dress kinda different, always have, its not linked to any fashion though, i just wear long as hell dresses with button up long sleave patterned shirts with baggy long pants underneath (as to not show legs) guess i look kinda underclass idk.

nowadays alt fashion is kinda moar concerned with having a "polished" normie friendly image t b h

with le big tidy goth gf meme, insta models, lolitas arguing in order for the community to have a good image for normies (Also lets be honest alot of ppl posted on ita threads are itas because they forgot to censor their face)

maybe im wrong but i feel like alt fashion has turned to an only pretty ppl meme

Isn't fashion for pretty people anyway? The model can change the look of the clothes just by wearing them so ugly people ruin outfits.

Lolitas are never going to have a good image for the public, 99% of people won't care, think it's weird, or think it's funny. If the girl in your picture and a professional lolita model walked by my mom would think the same thing about the both of them, "why are grown women dressing like children?". With things like goth a lot of them just wear normal things but in black which doesn't look that strange. But if you dress like this it's going to be the same thing as lolita.
I think there's a certain level of variation you can do with fashion while still "looking normal" but once you pass a threshold people are going to start thinking negatively of what you're wearing regardless of how good looking you are. To most normies there is no different between a good looking lolita and an ita. That's why I think it takes a certain personality type to wear that stuff outside, because you either have to not care about what other people think of you or delude yourself into thinking that other people think you look cool.

There's a difference between "ugly person dressing like a retard" and "good looking person dressing weird but <<eccentric>>"
