There used to be a kid from Colombia in my class when I was in middle school. When he went to visit his family he would always bring awesome candy back as a souvenir.

I like how piracy is so common there. most of my cracks come from south americans. I also like how they redistribute music and are singlehandedly keeping certain subcultures alive (like visual kei, lots of reuploaded lost media like mvs and concert recordings are uploaded by south americans)

The food is so much better than other places it's kinda crazy, not talking about traditional food but even fast food and big brand products. I was really surprised when i moved to US and everything was just so much worse

Spaniards and the Portuguese are Latin. Our lands and our culture comes from Roman empire, which grew by annexing other cultures and lands.

There's something to be said about religion too. The biggest push to keep the natives alive and give them some rights (like the right to own land and forbidding the governments from taxing natives) came from the Catholic Church, which concluded that the indigenous peoples were human beings created by God and have a soul. Protestants had no such thing.

Almost every Latin-American nation has a very neat friendly vibe to them. Probably my favorite part of the world.

Quick question, did they decide this after enslaving, whipping, and mutilating Indigenous Caribbeans who resisted their occupation? Was this decided before decimating the indigenous population in Mesoamerica that they began enslaving Africans at a more alarming rate to replace them in plantations? To the point that Latin America accounted for 2/3rds of the slave trade? Was said humanity accounted for post independence when you began sending them to mines in the Yucatan and caused many Indigenous children to become orphaned? Spanish colonialism wasn't any less brutal than the English, you are delusional to think otherwise especially when account for the violence that it created and still continues to perpetuate.
