bad, but increasingly hard to avoid as smoking falls back into public favor. cigarettes stink but i like the smell. have been struggling to keep away from nicotine on and off for maybe two years now. i have more incentive now because i'm trying to gain weight, and it's helping me steer clear.

My Grandma has COPD, and that’s enough to keep me from ever smoking. Also it’s gross and expensive.

Still stinks but I feel most people except the biggest of stoners know to just use it on social occasions like alcohol. As with alcohol, just don't overuse it and make it your personality and you're mostly fine. Still don't smoke it myself though.

I smoke weed pretty often but I have never wanted to try cigarettes or vapes. Seems smellier and unhealthier in comparison.

I doubt that smoking weed is healthier than smoking tobacco. It's just that there's at least a good reason to do it (get high). Being addicted to nicotine is like attaching a second bladder that constantly fills up independently from what you do and serves no purpose other than to enjoy the relief. It's the biggest scam ever and I wish there was a way to outlaw it.

My job requires me to go to other people's houses and it's JUST FUCKING LOVELY to smell the gas chambers people have turned their homes into. I used to hate cigarettes the most but now weed is the most obnoxious smell to me at this point. Also gotta love how most houses like that had kids living in them.

I just take edibles and I find them really enjoyable. All my family that smoked died in really painful looking ways or just straight up died super young. Plus my body takes enough of a beating.

It's not just about 'getting high'. Cannabis has a number of proven medical applications, while nicotine does not. As someone who is dealing with lifelong digestive issues, I find it effective for nausea and stomach pain relief. The stuff about nicotine addicts is so true though. I regularly hang around someone like that, it's like they can't survive 5 minutes without pulling out an (e)cigarette. Whether it's smoke or vape, that nasty smell just lingers for the longest time. It's annoying to watch and I don't want to be that person, not to mention how much it must cost.

My boyfriend sometimes vapes marijuana which I can sorta tolerate but he’s also trying like actual cigars and shit and I hate it and wish he would just stop. It’s fucking gross.

I like having weed on weekends myself, but you should not fall for the medical weed bullshit. Just about every other drug, including alcohol, works as a painkiller too. Weed does nothing to fix whatever actually causes that pain, and both smoking and vaping are just about the unhealthiest means of administration, short of snorting. Our societies have grown not to demonize people who smoke weed, but we're yet to learn to be moderate about it instead of assuming the most radical opposites of prohibition to be true.
