It’s like nobody knows what roleplay is. I go to do DM roleplay and everyone just expects ERP straight out of the gate. Zero creativity. The worst grammar you’ve seen in your ding dang LIFE. Expect crazyyy infodumping or unprompted nudes.
Only reason I’m doing DM rps at all is because most servers are so stringent. Even like, 95% of the 18+ servers don’t allow erp. I don’t want to make myself look like a bad person here, but if you’re running an 18+ server and don’t allow ERP, then what are you even doing?? Sex is obviously the final vanguard that the 18+ is supposed to be the border against. What else are we guarding the youth against before they turn 18? Violence? Drugs? Body horror? LMAO.
But anyways, the grown ass adults do not know how to roleplay. One liners and poor diction are rampant. They don’t even look up guides to help themselves grow in the rp ecosystem. I was in a dm-rp hub and some person DMed me asking just… basically asked me to be their mentor even though the only thing I had ever posted on the server was, “F18, DMs Open” and I had to teach them everything. EVERYTHING.
What has the RP scene come to? I guess I’ve only been in it for a year or so, but where should I go where it’s just… you know… better?

I don't do roleplay anymore but I used to via Amino and WhatsApp, I believe there's a roleplay community on Tumblr as well.
Personally I kinda grew out of it so maybe that's why you can't find anyone who knows how to write? Everyone who was good at it isn't as interested anymore so now you only find newbies. Another possibility is that now people would rather just ask ChatGPT or c.ai to roleplay with them.
