I actually didn't dream about marriage ever as a young child, but I was very often talked to as if I was. It felt pretty jarring when everyone constantly projects some weird image of who you are but never really tries to actually see what you really wanted.

But I did dream of being a princess when I was a little girl. It was mostly about wearing pretty dresses and glitter though.
And getting abducted like in all princess stories I was read as a kid. I think it's what got me into BDSM. Boys never had a part in it oddly enough, the me being tied up part was where I got distracted, the knight saviour stuff wasn't appealing to me. They really robbed me of stories where a pretty prince gets tied up and damseled though because I'm into that too. I had to read yaoi to find any of that. I blame society.

I've thought about limiting the wedding to family and close friends, something more intimate. It might open up a lot more venues. Saving cost on catering, etc. Might also mean more budget for something else, like an exotic venue. Basically something like "venue vs venue, Japan"
