Most people don't take the time to look into the science and believe whatever their political leaders say, which I can't even fully blame them for, education takes work and falling for a scam can happen to anyone. I blame the public speakers and "educators" who are spreading these lies unchecked. People should be getting arrested or at the very least kicked off of public platforms if they're found to wilfully spread harmful medical information, just like how it shouldn't be legal to have a doctor try to sell you mlm snake oil right before an operation to scam you out of even more money. Scamming is getting bad enough that the more effective ones are about selling peple fake ways to scam others, no honesty involved in the first place.
