>>322641They didnt want to strike them per se, they were just lazy idiots. The school compound was a military building like 10 years ago, and after it was used as a school (there were things like slides and swings on the schoolyard visible on sattelite pics), it was never put off a target list.
What made me sick to my stomach were the apologists who said stuff like that children shouldnt go to school during wartime anyways, or that it would be irresponsible to redesignate a military building as a school. My university was in an old barracks building, because why not, it wasnt needed anymore, but had large rooms, bathrooms on the hallways and all of that.
