>>325505yh, i agree. overthinking about other people's intentions is paralysing, plus a bit invasive because it's not anyone's business to inspect the private thoughts of others. assuming the worst of others is also cruel in its own way, since it paints someone as a bad liar. but genuinely, there are tons of people that think they're god's gift for saying "wow you shouldn't be insecure, you're so beautiful" when they're lying through their teeth - like those girls that are "self love" gurus, but get touchy when they're compared to fat girls. it's the self congratulating attitude that is so backwards. but you're right tbh, even with that being said, the best option is to avoid deciding for oneself what other people think. it's self-centred just the same. i guess i just hate dishonest people that say everyone should lie to themselves and be happy when that's encouraged
