The Bible says that from ONE blood God made all of man. Cain's wife was one of Adam's daughters. The reason it's glossed over is probably to avoid people trying to claim the Bible endorses brother and sister relations. The Children of Adam and Eve had to have children with each other and it's brushed past.
And regardless, we don't descend just from Adam, all mankind was destroyed aside from Noah's family, so we all descend from him too.
