Anyone here autistic with ADHD?
Anonymous 129179
Yeah everyone. Why do you think we're on the internet handwriting AI slop comments instead of do something productive
Anonymous 129182
Probably ADHD, but not autistic
What's with the perched position? I understand that squatting is important for your legs and knees, but why do it on a chair?

>>129182Something called proprioception actually, needing extra information about where our body is in with respect to space to feel comfortable about, or something like that.

yep and it's so goddamn awful. i do not function at all and the thought that i have to live like this forever because those disabilities are incurable really hurts.

Newly diagnosed with ADHD, and was just looking for somewhere to vent as a . Being undiagnosed for my whole life (30f) I want to say has in many ways ruined aspects of my life. I guess I should be happy that Im not saying it ruined my WHOLE life but I'm still grieving what could have been so much earlier. I failed out of university (already starting a new school tho I was at least able to do that in the process of getting diagnosed) and it was due to untreated ADHD symptoms. And then all of the other aspects of my life I have spent so much time feeling life a complete failure, or lazy, or unmotivated, or as though I simply dont have interest in things or hobbies thst I try to start and actually enjoy, but then drop abruptly because I cant make myself do it and nobody ever understood when I said I cant do something. But now… I'm on Adderall that I take almost every day, except I give myself breaks here and there when I plan to rot and relax. But when I tell you its such a rollercoaster of emotions in the difference between how I was and how I am now. Anyone else go through this? I'm so happy and my days are so much better, I even feel like I may someday get off my Celexa even because I'm feeling mentally so much better about myself and life, but that grief and guilt are still so strong. Like why didnt I fight to be tested sooner? Why didnt I do something about my failures sooner? Is it true what they say about women with ADHD masking better and getting diagnosed later because of if? Is that why I never did anything about it? Idk s, I'm just trying to not live qith regret for the past. But its hard. Thanks for reading my vent.

>>132538That sucks. You've been playing life on hard mode. Do tell more about those improvements when you're on meds.
Perhaps i should get officially diagnosed too, i want to be able to read a page of text in one go, without getting distracted by my own thoughts a hundred times.

>>132539I'm on i think week 4 of Adderall XR. I started on 15mg and needed a small bump to 20mg which seems to be the sweet spot for me. Honestly? My head has never been so quiet, all of the background noise and racing thoughts and absolute dread is gone. I dont freeze up anymore when I have tasks, I dont feel overwhelmed, emotionally I am more level headed than ever and dont get overstimulated anymore. I have linear trains of thought and I can actually focus on whaf I'm doing. Start a task and see it through to the end without dropping it or going off on another task in the middle of one. And as for reading, I finally picked up my books again and my focus has never been better when I'm reading. I start school again in September and I'm really looking forward to seeing everything i can achieve with the proper tools to do it. If youre thinking about getting diagnosed, do it! I truly, truly wish I did sooner. I spent the first few days on Adderall crying because I cant explain it any other way than I felt SO normal. Not euphoric or hyper or anything like that, but just… capable. I wish you well with your own journey, its so worth it to get treatment.

>>129167Right here I got autism and adhd, I am getting screened for ocd soon. Id say that my autism effected me more since it gave me years of alienation and the pandemic made it worse when everyone was locked inside. It made me even more of a social retard.
