I fucked up again Anonymous 132606
Spent all night talking to a guy and made a commitment that I will struggle to keep.
Do I like him? Yes. Is he everything that I could want? Yes.
But it's ldr. I can't handle another ldr. I don't want to commit. Sure right now I feel like I could spend every evening and night on call with him but I won't always have that energy.
He was going to visit this october before I asked so I have to figure out how to say this before we end up doing anything and making it more difficult. Even if I explain this to him later he'll probably stop hanging out with me and some of our other friends probably will too. I don't understand why I'm so stupid and why I didn't think before I let this happen.

I'd like to think that nobody human can handle something like that. Let's say you spend 3 to 4 hours on phone, that's 21 to 28 hours per week which is basically a part-time job. Unless you're a NEET, nobody can handle something like that. There's also this constant pressure to perform. If he's everything that you could want, then he should also understand that you can't do a part-time job babysitting him every night.

>>132607I don't think he's asking for that. If I told him I was really tired he'd just call me and talk me to sleep or just not call at all. He's understanding.
It's more like at some point I probably won't even have the energy to communicate at all for weeks.

Do you not have any common interests you could spend time doing together or side by side? I think the term's co-playing but its just two people doing their own thing together. So, example, you could be drawing and he could be playing a video game. You just hang out in a call and get to say "look at this cool thing" then show your art and talk about it a bit. Then later maybe he'll get to a cool part in his game and want to show you. Basically it is just "Lets do our own thing together and show each other the cool parts."
