how to date when you're a chud? Anonymous 133372

genuinely i feel like i got nothing to offer. i have a job but it's minimum wage and i'm struggling to find work elsewhere. i can't drive even though i'm in grad school. and i'm chopped af (even though whenever i say this people are like "nooo you're so pretty ahaha to make me feel better. like bruh if wasn't ugly i wouldn't be here).
i usually end up third wheeling while my pretty friends get hit on or listening to their woes of people thinking they're hot and it just makes me feel weirdly uncomfortable because thats rarely happened to me. and obviously i don't think they should get attention they don't want! but i guess i feel a terrible sense of jealously over being desired even if i know it's wrong. it's weird and makes me feel guilty.
it's gotten to the point where my online friend made a weirdly nsfw comment to me but i wasn't even bothered by it because it made me feel wanted for once? i know it was bad and i should call him out, but it's been the only think to make my heart skip a beat in so long.
idk mostly a vent but if anyone has any advice on how to not be a total loser i would like to hear it ^^ hoping whoever is reading this is doing better than i am

For one, you should draw a line with people making comments like that towards you. That’s a pretty big red flag that they’re only really interested in you because you’re a woman and they want to get their willy wet.

I get wishing people would flirt with you, I really do, I was and still am in a similar boat with you in regards to feeling unwanted, but when I actually reciprocated the few flirts I did get, bad stuff happened that lead to my heart getting broke. As for what you can do, I would say just make the most of what you have, something that’s numbed those feelings a lot for me is trying as much new shit as possible helped a bunch, and constantly leaving my comfort zone to explore has made me feel a lot more grounded.

When it comes to actually finding what you seek, I’m sorry Nona but you’ll have to be patient. Finding someone you can trust and reciprocate the want you show them cannot be done in a day. If you branch out from your comfort zone, you’ll hopefully find what you seek, but you’ll have to show initiative.

Like the other nona said, get out of your comfort zone, you'll meet many more people and learn about yourself. If something isn't your thing then at least you have the experience and an interesting story. You'll become more interesting and that will attract people to you. More opportunities to meet people and some of them will become friends and potentianly maybe even lovers. The right person is out there, you just have to go meet them
