No affection Anonymous 133482

out somewhere today
see this couple absolutely shameless about PDA
holding hands, hugging, leaning all over each other, the whole thing
they looked genuinely comfortable with each other

meanwhile I’m sitting there thinking about how I barely ever get affection
never experienced affection from a man either
never been intimate with anyone
honestly don’t even really remember what a proper hug feels like anymore

not even trying to make this into some “woe is me” shit
just got me wondering what it actually feels like to be loved on
to have someone want to hold you, touch you, cuddle you, whatever
must be a weird feeling when you’re not used to it

so now I’m curious
for anyone else who rarely gets affection, what do you actually do about it?
do you just get used to it?
hug pillows? pets? friends?
find other ways to get that feeling?
or do you just eventually stop thinking about it?

I never meet men i truly like so it doesn't matter. I guess i could care less about affection but i came from a neglectful home life. (Its fine they throw money at me as a sign as affection i guess)

But at the same time I've never met a guy I really liked or trusted. It takes a lot more than for me to want affection at random. I have to find a specific person, it never happens. I dated a bunch for a while and all the guys i dated i wanted to break off with. I think I just like solitude.
