Suppliment Thread Anonymous 20827

I'm getting really into supplements recently and I honestly feel amazing on them.
My current setup is multivitamin + glutathione + NMN, and I'm thinking of adding CoQ10 next. I basically want to repair all my cells and DNA.
Any experience with these or others? Any recommendations?
Let's talk about supplements.

how'd they get broken

Anonymous 20841

op has cancer I guess

People accumulate DNA damage through exposure to UV and oxidants. The body has repair mechanisms for these but it eventually builds up. So I've been boosting the repair pathways and also trying to reduce the damage rate in the first place via antioxidants.

this would sound very nice in a marketing paragraph but i don't have the means to verify this sadly. so i don't know but i would expect this to be bs just from living in a culture of weaponized for-profit health products.

plus fundamentally the human digestion has been learning how to digest alive nutrients since the begining of life and processed food only for a few hundreds or thousands.

your capsules and tinctures are all highly processed dead isolates foreign to the human body and may be hard to digest while potentially doing little to no benefit. since digestion is a process requiring a lot of the body, you might be weakening yourself for little to no benefit, which is the opposite effect of what you are trying to achieve.

unless you are talking about herbal supplements, which i very much respect.

Well everything I take is endogenous to the human body or plants (the glutathione comes from white tomatos) so it's not synthetic molecules per se. I do get what youre saying about getting it from foods and stuff rather than pill form, however its not fully practical because of the massive amounts of tomatoes, grapes, etc. you'd have to eat every day to get the effective doses.

Decided to try using Magnesium to make up for the Mag losses that apparently happen after getting stressed and drinking caffeinated drinks.
Using the Magne B6 brand. (Magnesium Bisglycinate 400 mg + some B6 to go along with)
Feeling super sleepy but also super calm after my first pill, I'll see how it goes next. Picked bisglycinate specifically because it helps you sleep, but also because it absorbs really well.

Any other nonas using supplements?

I mean, DNA damage is real and it's a part of our aging process.
But I don't know if there are any valid supplements against this, there's a lot of "longevity" stuff being sold under the guise of sciencey stuff right now, but they seem kinda like scams.
I think you're better off taking stuff that helps you reduce stress and strain on your organism instead.

Feeling better a month later but I have no clue how much the Mag to be credited tbh.

Anonymous 22020

I take vitamin b and vitamin c. Also prescription iron suppliments.

B12 and iron are a necessity (too much monthly blood loss, vegetarian diet).
Magnesium in case of insomnia, and also for dreams (it has tryptophan and L-theanine with it).
Probiotics.
Vitamins (especially D) during winter.

In the past, I have played with weird stuff in the hope of lessening the blood flow, but it just disrupted cycles and actually increased it lol.

NMN is a gamechanger, literally no supplement ever works for me for making me feel energised but this stuff is like magic.
Why Glutathione and not NAC ?

Anonymous 22335

Also to add, I am a bit of a supplement freak. I been monitoring my macros/micro nutrient intake for years but diet alone really can't fill in all the gaps unless I have like 50% more of the calories for a girl my height.

Over time I introduced:
Morning: Iron polypeptide + Vit C
Midday: Vit D + Mg + Methyl folate + Biotin
Evening: Algae Omega 3 + Vit E + Calcium + Vit C again

You get good at swallowing them without tasting (I just copied how they make cats/dogs take pills by putting it in the very back of the tongue).

Moved on from Bisglycinate to Citrate, which has a bit more mag per pill. Looking back I noticed a significant improvement in cognition. Specifically my executive functioning improved and I'm better at figuring out what's hindering it. Maybe some emotional stability too.
Pic related. I don't know how accurate it is besides oxide being shit, so it's gonna be here for discussion or something.

I also remember having 12 ng mol vitamin D a while back so that needs to be worked on 100%

Anonymous 22369

does the citrate make you shit a lot

Anonymous 22370

>>22369
the shits are watery sometimes. doesn't seem to be an issue to me though.

Got prescribed combilipen by doc 15 days ago-ish. It's basically just vitamin B.
The first few days I took it my head hurt a lot but now I feel like it's way easier for me to deal with mental issues etc. I must have been extremely deficient and didn't realize it.

Each pill contains:

· Benfotiamine (Vitamin B1) - 100 mg
· Pyridoxine hydrochloride (Vitamin B6) - 100 mg
· Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) - 2 mcg

i was actually just about to switch from citrate to the one you used to use because of the laxative effect. it’s not recommended as a daily and the absorption is supposed to be less good? but you’ve noticed improvement? i thought the one you used was best for anxiety but that’s scary for real

>>22449
um, I actually switched back nona because even though it's ok most of the time sometimes it fucks me up as I've found out. And I've read it may mess with your absorption of other things, so I'm doing bisglycinate again. Do try it!
The improvement I mentioned is from taking mag generally, not citrate specifically.

Also vitamin B is making my hair feel super nice. I guess this is what good hair days are really about

Anonymous 22452

>>22451
how did it mess you up? yeah once i found out i became suspicious. i’m a veg and definitely desperately need all my nutrients and a b supplement. i didn’t feel like my old one did anything. it was like red liquid i held under my tongue.

Anonymous 22453

>>22452
I eventually got the laxative effects and decided I can't take this with certain meds.

As for your situation, it's hard to say without more info. How long have you been taking it for? Maybe you need an actual therapeutic dose or you're not that deficient? In these cases it's pretty normal not to feel strong changes. I'd advise you to ask a doctor about it. They can figure out if there's contributing issues and recommend an actual good supplement. I probably lucked out with magnesium helping me. It was perfect for my situation which was strong affective flares for no reason, probably depleted Magnesium reserves in the past.

Anonymous 22454

>>22452
Also sounds like that red liquid is a certain form of vitamin B that not everyone absorbs well for various reasons. Plus it's probably maintenance dose?
What I personally take is just a normal pill, but it's super high dosage that's supposed to raise vitamin B levels real quick. This might be why our experiences differ.

Anonymous 22455

>>22454
yeah because of your vitamin b post i’m going to ask about it at an upcoming appointment, i’ve never had prescribed any vitamin except iron and everything else they’ve just told me take over the counter. but now that i know it’s an option i’m going to pursue it. i’ve been pretty good about taking various brand magnesium supplements over the years. i stayed with the one i use now cos drink powders can be a chore and i hate the huge chalky white square oval pills they sometimes sell them as. my current ones are purple capsules they’ve tapered to be easier to swallow. seriously massive horse pills a lot of the time in the US at least. i also usually take vitamin D but i’ve been slacking. if you take those i know you should eat or take a calcium supplement at the same time because your body absorbs those together!

Anonymous 22456

>>22455
The doc will probably want to have an issue to solve before they prescribe you strong vitamin pills.
I literally got vitamin B because of my hearing issues being connected to neurology/vascular issues.
That said vitamin B deficiency has a lot of symptoms, so I'd try to complain about those (if you have them) or just take the blood test even. If you have a strong deficiency the doc will prescribe something 100%

btw, funny thing is, it was the ENT who prescribed me vitamin B, not a neurologist or anyone else. They had 30 years of exp. Wise doc.
