How is body hair in women seen in your country? Do women really have thicker hair depending on the region?

Uh yeah obviously

I'm in a larger German city and when I go to the pool, I notice that almost all women my age are pretty clean-shaven, like no armpit- nor leg hair. I used to feel pressured to shave too, but now that just inspires me more to stick to not shaving. The only reason I'd do it is to avoid negative comments, I couldn't care less about being attractive to any potential partners.
So far in all these years, I've never received a bad comment about not shaving though, even though my hair is pretty dark. But I'm not a teenager anymore, I assume adults keep such comments to themselves for the most part or just don't care as much.
I guess body hair is seen as something to be shaven for women here, while for men it can be seen as embarrassing. (My cousin shaves his legs and he actually hides how much care he puts into that from his immediate family (he has a laser device and everything)).
I don't want to bend to that kind of social pressure though. But I'd never look down on women who do shave; if you worry that not doing it will make you look bad when you are aiming to be attractive to someone in this culture, it makes sense I guess…
