bad period pain Anonymous 22304

hey nonas,
on my period right now and it hurts like FUCK. I missed an event i really wanted to go to. I can barely get out of bed with my heating pad on the highest setting. im nauseous and it hurts from my abdomen to my thighs.
Apparently ibuprofen is really bad for your liver, especially if you need to take a lot. So I started taking tylenol instead. Still hurts like a bitch. The reason I’m not taking birth control is because I am going to donate my eggs when I’m legally able to. I am thinking of consulting a doctor though, because apparently it can be symptomatic of endo.

Do you nonas know about any otc medications, teas, herbs, etc to help with bad period pain?

you can take both ibuprofen and acetaminophen in the same day as it affects organs differently, and also you can stagger your medication doses so there is less chance to be affected by pain. i did this for post-wisdom teeth removal though, so im not sure how it is long term if you have monthly periods, but maybe it could reduce how those medications affect different organs. just a suggestion as you have both of those pills already. definitely look into it before taking advice though.

tea helps but i think that's bc the heat makes the body relax a bit more. when i had tea i usually had something calming like mint or green.

(Turmeric) ginger tea helps a lot for me. I must drink a whole goddamn ginger plant every month.

Oh, also:
For some women, light physical activity is known to help.
Dark chocolate because of the magnesium.
Apparently orgasms for some people?

raspberry leaf tea helped when I had horrible periods! I started on bc a couple years ago and my periods last like 3 days, are light, and involve basically no cramping/bloating so I don't need the tea any more though. would recommend looking into going on hormonal bc if you're OK with that

ty nona, will try. i have heard that hormonal birth control has some risky side effects though, so i am hesitant
