Chasing an idealic aesthetic or accepting the comforting embrace of mediocrity Anonymous 22999

Do you think it's better to be bombarded with unrealistic aesthetics or telling ourselves it's okay to be a failure?

I feel like both ways are just lying to tell an unhealthy person (EDs or obese) that they're doing well. Growing up with everyone wanting to be skinny felt suffocating but I also feel uneasy about losing that goal. If I don't have an ideal aesthetic to strive for, how do I improve myself? Telling myself I'm fine feels like accepting mediocrity without any directions on where to go next. When I see pinterest trying to purposefully put plus-sized women at the top of my feed I feel like I'm being patronized and being told it's okay to be chubby when I know real life isn't like that.
I went from average height and stocky in middle school to under 50kg slightly short. This is the dream body I wanted but now it feels like I just got indoctrinated into becoming dependant on this 'dream'. I do get stressed about how much I eat but I don't think I can live without this stress.
How do you nonas find meaning and goals in life without holding on to this? Do you focus on your hobbies instead? What if I don't like my hobbies enough to take it any further?
