/vr/ - Retro Games Anonymous 30441

I only play retro video games (before 2000). Anyone else?

On occasion… I guess!

Anonymous 30451

Which ones

Anonymous 30471

Not exclusively, but retro is the shit. Finding an old game you've never played before that's good is a transcendent experience

I enjoy older games mostly, too! I used to just play stuff like Morrowind or Gothic but my boyfriend got me into emulators and now I just love it, I really want to finish Corpse Party and Castlevania. I also really enjoy the "girly" games like Harvest Moon or MySims!
And if you have any recommendations, please, drop them

Not really, mostly GBA games from like 2005 like FireEmblem or Pokemon

If you're currently playing NDS games, I'd recommend these four. I've only played Emily the Strange and The Wizard of Oz, both of which I enjoyed and think you might as well, however, I've been meaning to play Witch's Wish and A Witch's Tale, since aesthetically, they both are very appealing to me and look like a lot of fun, especially because Witch's Wish is made by Natsume, who made all the NDS Harvest Moon games, which I love! So yeah… these four are probably the most like what you're looking for, hopefully?

I mainly play retro games. I grew up with the Dreamcast so some of my favorite games are from that system. The late 90s/ early 2000s were such a special time for gaming.

I like old point and click games. Like Sam & Max and Grim Fandango.

I've been on a tetris attack/panel de pon/puzzle league kick lately. God I miss games like these. Just simple puzzle games where I can waste hours playing. This pokemon one is so cute and nostalgic too.

Good taste nona. I freaking love panel de pon even though it was released only in japan and the localization in north america was done with yoshi characters. But the original is cool the gameplay mechanic is interesting and i like the og characters.

Panel de pon is so good and cute I got hooked playing on NSO on switch
Too bad I suck at these types of games though

Super addicting. It’s one of my favourite nso titles! God it’s so fun! For the record, i’m pretty decent at it, though the difficulty does jump up after a while. Would love a physical copy of it someday!

I'm not very good at playing these games either. Setting up chains and visualizing where the next block will fall is hard for me. I would love to be good at it, but I guess I need to practice more. Still fun though!

samefag but does anyone remember the ds version? I played this one a lot back in the day. But I hardly see anyone mention it when talking about these games! It's really nothing special (no fun characters or "story"), but the late 2000s ui is nostalgic for me.

I think ive heard of this before. It’s called puzzle league i believe!

That’s what makes panel de pon so fun tho! It’s almost like a memory sort of thing where you have to predict what comes next!
