It's a lot of suffering ahead and not really worth reading if your just in it for gay rock stuff. It's VERY worth it if you're into the buddhist themes and religious symbolism though.

Season 1 implies a story upon which the manga very much does not deliver. I'd say read it and try to enjoy the ride.
