I want to get into the magical girl genre of anime but don't know where to start. What would be a good starting point for someone who's only watched two animes before?

Do you want to watch for the fights? Comedy? Starry eyed romance?

I'd recommend staring with Onegai My Melody, probably, as Japanese children's media goes
