They're scalping and until recently a lot of them were making a decent amount of profit from it unfortunately.

I really hate scalpers, I truly consider them a bunch of bastards who ruin people's hobbies because they don't want to work, but I also blame the people who buy from them—like, I'd rather go without than give money to that kind of scum

the only people who care about TCG scalpers are wannabe TCG scalpers jealous they got there late. nobody actually plays the Pokemon card game, even the little kids are just there to try and get an ultra rare holographic charizard they can barter for toys and cash on the playground with.
