conspiracies are okay as long as they actually have some kind of evidence that isn’t pure speculation.

all of these groups and their offshoots are implicated in criminal activity. many are also extremely suspicious and well connected

been eyeing this thread for a while because i have an interest in cults but i don't know what to post about.. i've mostly been reading about the ones that already an-hero'd themselves long ago (people's temple and heavens' gate for example). i've never heard of anything you listed (except scientology of course) but now im curious, what should i start with?

Transcendental Meditation / TM. They're going to be the new scinetology in a few years

>cult allegedly has its claws in multiple government organizations and the scientific community trying to verify its meditation as therapeutic in nature
>multiple celebrity members and endorsements ranging from the Beatles (who left because Maharishi was too creepy for them), Beach Boys, David Lynch, Russell Brand, Oprah, and Jim Carrey
>has a creepy university (MIU) located in bumfuck Iowa town called Fairfield
>university has had a murder on campus where one student stabbed another to death
>Fairfield townies and the meditation cult citizens in Fairfield don't get along
>there are buildings only upper members of the cult can enter
>university allegedly won't let you leave campus, refuses to pay students stipend for food and forces meditation rituals and vegan diet
>there was an incident where tons of Indian exchange students randomly disappeared from MIU only to turn up working labor jobs offcampus, many still remain unaccounted for
