What's the verdict on Lindsay Clancy?

Anonymous 12220

This thread is about to attract so much bait.

Anyways I'll get scrotefoiled for this but I don't feel bad for her, it might've been psychosis causing this but those kids didn't deserve it and if she's in that bad of a mental state she should probably be kept under supervision. I dislike the husband though, why wasn't he keeping an eye on his kids or making sure his wife was ok? People saying they wanna kill their babies for this is unhinged though, gives me vibes of those "Regretful Parents" subreddits where they say they wanna murder suicide their children

My impression from the story I heard is that it was premeditated because of how she deliberately sent off her husband as far away as she needed. Although I’ve also heard their state is one of those with the more lax rules for NGRI.

It doesn’t matter if she is guilty or “not”, she’s being sent off for a long time anyway. The people who donated to her should’ve given like 1% to me and I’d have enough to pay off a down payment, what a waste desu.

I also don’t really understand her alleged psychosis, maybe it’s just the experience I’ve had with it, but I don’t think “hearing a male voice commands” alone sounds very convincing. Maybe I didn’t see much accounts of paranoia, broadcast thinking, delusions, I could’ve just missed it. These actions are possible outside of psychosis, although I’d like to review other mother murder suicide cases before I say for certain.
Also at least if she had lucid enough periods to seek help, then she had the ability to remove herself from her children. This is even if she was psychotic.

Anonymous 12235

>>12234
And to be clear, my position pretty much is that her agency was impaired but she didn’t make a sufficient effort to deal with her mental state. As far as I recall she gave up on counseling for one, no? Correct me if I wrong.
So she might not be a full cold blooded killer, but she has a degree of responsibility still.

Apparently forensic psychs did find she was likely psychotic, but that doesn’t mean she was void of agency. So it’s pretty much negligence the way it looks to me.

Anonymous 12236

>>12237
She had 3 children. The first one can always be a poor decision but the other 2? How do you make that mistake 2 more times afterwards? The moid can't force you to have 2 more when he's already been locked down by just one. Divorce courts are one of the few places we have an advantage, especially when there's children involved and if you can afford to spend all this time fighting murder charges you could have afforded to document everything and take what's yours in a divorce proceeding.

Anonymous 12245

>>12244
I haven’t heard anything that indicates that.
What I did hear is she kept working night shifts while trying to take care of the kids, and if she has bipolar that’s very dangerous and could have potentially provoked an episode. (Or deteriorated her mental health further)

Anonymous 12246

>>12234
She was in the prodromal phase where she started to lose it but wasn't all the way gone. That's when you start to lose your mind so she probably started planning their murders then but still knew better than to go through with it. She basically wasn't in control of her own actions, this is part of why I believe she should be free and at most put in mandatory therapy or given meds. The system failed her

Anonymous 12247

>>12246
The system has failed a lot of us. Most of us have mental health issues at this point. Shockingly most of us do not commit murder.
>>12245
That's even worse. Her moid was well off. I have sympathy for all the mothers stuck with kids who still have to work but when you get the chance to be a stay at home parent and choose not to? You had the choice.

Can people please stop looking for reasons to defend murder. It just makes us all look bad. Not sure if any of you have checked but there's a bunch of conservative moids in charge right now who would really like to throw away our rights.

The only thing society did wrong is encourage this retarded behavior

Anonymous 12282

>>12280
I do agree it's not really society's fault because it's not like she was pressured by people to kill her kids (as far as we know at least) but I do feel somewhat bad that she was denied proper care by her psychiatrist. And no that doesn't mean it's ok that she killed her kids or that she deserves 0 consequences, I disagree with most rehabilitative justice tards but this is one of the only times I'd say it applies. If she did a Jodi Arias and just killed her neglectful husband maybe I wouldn't care though I would probably still feel bad for the kids and have some dislike of her for that

Anonymous 12285

>>12282
Yeah I am currently in no position to say whether she received sufficiently proper care by the doctors or by her loved ones, this is not really a case that's clear cut at a glance. IMO Andrea Yates is a much better example of someone who really was failed.

The main reason I bring this up though is because of the mindset her supporters seem to have with uncritically accepting misinformation from tiktok. Not to mention making inane and embarrassing statements or actions about the case seemingly without thinking.

The Internet seems to encourage this, because in the real world that I've been in you can't just excuse all your failures away as much. What matters are the results and it forces people to develop their brain instead of just being morons in their tiktok echo chambers.

But it really does seem like, normie gals sometimes latch onto a woman who’s committed a serious crime just to shock society and defy the moids expectations, even if it’s in a completely negative way.

The courts constantly release violent criminals because the alternative is to be mean to them. She would have been deemed too unstable for her safety or to the safety of the people around her and would have been released.

Anonymous 12320

I don't give a fuck about this case, even if it's organic seems like all it does is contribute to the culture war and I'm really not deep diving into it because of the discourse around it. Like many other true crime trials that hit the news hard I'm going to admit the most controversial thing of all: I don't really care

Anonymous 12321

At first I really believed she was psychotic but some things make me doubt it, she did not report hallucinations until after the crime, but then reported she'd actually been having them months. The sticker on her wheelchair is really fucking weird too.

Either way, it's very disheartening to see men use this as a way to bash women and spread false information about PPP and PPD.

I wouldn't say I support her in either case. I believe she does not deserve to be locked up for life in the case of genuine psychosis. But I think the women donating to her and making "me too" videos are creepy. I say this as a mom of a young baby. Its distasteful at the very least.

Anonymous 12322

>>12276
This is false. She is allowed to walk free when deemed fit for release by psychiatrists. For many criminals who plead NGRI this means an equal to or longer sentence than prison. But Lindsay has been deemed fit for release since May of 2025. And Andrea Yates who killed 5 kids in 2001 is allowed to have release hearings and could potentially be free, but she denies them, preferring the hospital. Institutions are treatment centers not jails for crazy people.

Anonymous 12340

I've noticed that anyone who's pretty much not retarded (qualified psychs and all) do admit she was psychotic or at least that there is not enough evidence to rule psychosis out.

The degrees to which they think the help she received was appropriate vary. Here's what a respectable shrink I've watched said. They hospitalized her multiple times but every single time she was released too early. Probably very related to the fact that America's mental health institutions are ass and mental asylums vanished due to deinstitutionalization, leading to a lot of loonies just roaming the streets instead of being taken care of. They have limited resources in that aspect.
Yeah, some say the psychiatrists did do everything by the book, but is the book right?

I actually wonder how the civil suit will turn out now. LC's supporters aren't exactly wrong or evil but honestly I think they really need to learn to watch out for optics.

The fact that this is the hill some other women are choosing to die on that's dooming the rest of us depresses me. America is really about to become the Middle East and for what? Some fad around some baby killer instead of something worthwhile like ending trafficking or trying to save young girls from pregnancy. A killing that left a young girl dead is apparently the most feminist action worth losing your rights to defend. This is why I hate TikTok

Anonymous 12355

>>12353
Altruistic filicide/murder is an actual term, though I think that really does not require one to have psychosis.

Anonymous 12356

>>12351
Restrictive abortion laws and forced birth practices are associated with higher infant mortality rates, so yes, more children would die. Males also become the predominant perpetrators of child homicide after infancy. They don't care about children, they want to control women. Evidenced by the fact that conservatives still push for more women to be impregnated and made to participate in early-life caregiving. Who would do that when they believe the same demographic are evil baby murderers? Hypocritic sex pests. It's somehow even more disgusting for them to pretend this is about kids and improving society when in truth it's only ever about their penises

Anonymous 12358

>>12350
You can't argue for your rights with people who'd advocate for removing the female vote spurred on by these events, but would never say a word about removing the scrote vote due to their epidemic level of violence against women and children, even within their own homes. There's no amount of advocacy that'll convince scrotes in this era, where they are no longer entitled by culture to a wife and breeding rights, that women should be free. They serve themselves first and foremost. So while I'm concerned about this ridiculous and grim response from mentally ill women online, my immediate thought is not to worry what scrotes think, because the type of xy to see this and think "women should lose their rights" is not the sort to be convinced out of his mentality by our best behaviour, either.

Anonymous 12360

>>12358
I'd generally agree but you have to keep in mind these people keep recruiting others into spouting misogynist propaganda by using ragebaiters and actual psyopped idiots on the other side. There are actual actors who use bots and manufactured drama in order to sow discord. Yes, there are some people who will always be shitheads, but the public opinion honestly matters way more than it may seem initially.

Anonymous 12361

>>12360
I get it, the propaganda pushes these sexist sentiments onto people who'd otherwise not openly condone supporting or even expressing such extreme things. But really, who actually are these "people" that can be persuaded to revoke women's rights, or spread sexist propaganda, by a case that's a) clearly a pysop, and b) a tragedy, yet not lonely amongst a sea of schizos that slaughter their families due to psychotic breakdowns (cases that don't amount to revoking men's rights, fostering a culture of owning and controlling schizos, etc). It's males and literally/figuratively raped women, conservative religious types, the "public." People who despise women not only because of lindsay clancy, but because they were already primed to believe women are deserving of exploitation, neglect and punishment. People willing to tout slogans stripped of proper understanding. People who see the death of three innocent lives, a little girl included, with a medically failed mentally deranged mother murderer, and spin it into reels about "when women's feefees are hurty they think they can kill babies." The case itself is a psyop and it's working, but the people that gobble it all up left us doomed long before any of this started. These people can't treat this case with the sensitivity and nuance it deserves. Or they can, and are just purposefully evil to serve their own cause, their own benefit. Which is the majority. These males don't even have the "excuse" of experience with pregnancy, unlike these nutjob mothers online flocking around lindsay. These people were always going to be sexists, is what I'm saying, even if such a heinous crime wasn't there to push them further.
Their will to treat women decently is not being overpowered by real personal experience, mass epidemics of violence (infanticide is a rare outcome of postpartum psychosis), nor sincere concern for children (they keep whining about the reducing birth rates. Nothing if not hypocrites). They're giving into these notions because they lack the ability to understand women as nuanced human beings failed by medicine, society and motherhood altogether. Or, simply, they fail to accept that women can be bad people and that this does not undermine the feminist cause. A victim class does not need to be perfect.
Many things would've, and have already, set them off, but this case in particular provides these scrotes a righteous shield since it involves our most vulnerable members of society, and is, as I've already implied, really difficult to form a solid opinion on. It also allows people to shield their sexism behind impenetrable outrage. Little children, dead by their own mother's hands. It's sickening. I, to put it gently, hate clancy for what she did, not because of what she's caused but because she's a child killer. And inside these feelings misogynists find a home for their ideologies. But I won't turn into one, unlike the scrotes who'll "see no other option but to remove women's rights."
Basically, the public opinion cannot be defeated when it's this poisoned already. Her case isn't making things worse, it's revealing how many people are ready to take up this seemingly unchallengeable reason to foster a culture of spite, the "look how insane and deserving of control these people are", toward women & mothers. And with such glee.

Anonymous 12363

>>12361

Anonymous 12368

And I really don't think the public opinion is as irreversibly poisoned as you say. PR management and propagandists would not have their jobs otherwise. Granted they have a lot more reach and resources than you and I.

And even if it were, is it worth adding even more bad optics and ammunition into it? I don't think so. Controlling public discourse is not limited to trying to change the evil chauvinist moids opinion, it's about making their point of views as unattractive as possible - which is exactly what sexist moids are using this case for effectively.

Most people's views are not set in stone, they do not really have any opinions, they just want to seem reasonable and agreeable. They say shit without thinking. Which is why I believe targeting public opinion/image is reasonable.

i don't see how realistic it is to imagine that these cases won't occur, and that pregnant women and women in general won't feel a certain type of way about them and thus react how they did. the issue from this angle is not the act, but how purposefully blown up it all became, which is likely thanks to it being a psyop. it was a tragedy: and what about all the other cases where fathers axe out their families in cold blood? it doesn't get this coverage because the situation isn't entrenched within a whole load of pre-existing, sexually charged discrimination, and floating in a smog of campaigns considering whether women should really get to participate legally in society. for us it always has to be a matter of looking perfect collectively. a forced curse, and at worst a self imposed one too at times.
the public soaking this up and reaching the conclusion that women don't deserve rights is absurd, and like i said, reveals that there's no "good enough" behaviour regardless. moids are always looking for the way into despising women "justly." this case wasn't a clear cut act of premeditation, many question the husband, many have to debate the nature of mental health and responsibility when enduring a crisis. it's not "this is enough evidence to despise women altogether" territory, but people are acting like it is.
>controlling public discourse is not limited to trying to change the evil chauvinist moids opinion, it's about making their point of views as unattractive as possible - which is exactly what sexist moids are using this case for effectively
of course. still, what do you expect women at large to do about a mother entering psychosis, especially considering she was failed by medical professionals to an extent (they don't all agree on how it was handled, which is natural, but where there's smoke there's fire) and killing her children. it's not the feminist's fault, and extending sympathy to her isn't as outlandish as males deciding this is prime evidence for why women should have their vote revoked. their points are attractive when they neglect the nuance and accuse people of supporting baby killing. this is what i mean by "we were, and are, doomed." if this point of view is attractive (repealing the female vote) because of a murderer, but revoking men's rights has never been considered as a fair response to their criminals, what society are you looking at? what hope can you have of controlling the public discourse when people are so willing to drink up piece-meal outrage and start expressing shit like this?
as for people wanting to seem reasonable and agreeable, you are right and your entire post reminds me of some areas i didn't consider about public backlash, beliefs and what we collectively allow to go unchallenged. it's not always such a nefarious process, not intentionally, and that's where propogandists get to thrive. slogans breed through public ignorance and the desire to see the glaring issue first, which is rightfully the child death. she deserves prison. but again, i just bring myself back to the same focus: a society able to get to this point even partly has the favours stacked against women already, and doesn't want to let go of the opportunity it has to claim that we deserve to lose our rights.
we shouldn't add more bad optics/ammunition, but who is we. the people pushing this case the way they have? the internet personalities expressing their support, the women that show up around lindsay? the case itself? you can dismantle all of it with a couple claims that they were paid, actors, they were pushed by the algorithm as an exaggeration, they're mentally handicapped by their circumstances (sexist abuse), etc. but that's getting into wishful thinking and revoking the autonomy/culpability of her supporters. regardless, it's not the job of every woman on earth to feel responsible for this female criminal and to think she's "ruining our chances" of "looking good." why are our rights a matter of discussion? a little bit of a debate about whether the autonomous beings with wills of their own should really get a fair say in society, because hur dur, don't you see this case?
"but look at this criminal!" the scrote vote is not legally threatened because they don't take responsibility for male criminals. they're pressured by a few people to vaguely "do something" against rape culture, oh boohoo. but their rights? revoked? those have never been called into question by a governing body.
and again, i say it. they'll continue to moan about women not having kids with them, regardless. "you evil baby killer supporters, why won't you start a family with me?"

you phrased your sentences fine, it never crossed my mind that you were babbling or esl. you made points that were better than me, because i'm past the point of merely pessimistic, i'm imagining the worst of society. you're probably closer to the right attitude, and working to clean up "women's" "public image" is probably all we've got against this mess anyway. my points don't really land us anywhere other than "we're in a sexist hell", so

Goes for both sides. Lolcow, for example, has a lot of spergs about how it's actually good to murder kids as of late and a lot of people have decided to just rewrite history or go schizo about how actually the husband did it and it will be proven any day now

She mean that laws (so, rights) only exist if they are enforced by violence, which men are good at.

Do you know how women got their rights in the first place?
